Adam Ng has about 25 years experience in practicing Chinese Calligraphy as an art and passions in his life.
He learned this Chinese art from a master calligrapher in Penang since his teen age and follow faithfully the classical school. His fortes are "weibei" and "lishu" and he has developed recently a style called "juanyunshu", imitating the natural movement of the clouds.
He was the 1st Prize winner in the 1st national level calligraphy essay awards in 1995. Besides, he has won numerous local and international calligraphy awards from 1985 to 2000, and has also participated in some international level calligraphy exhibitions (Malaysia-China, Malaysia-Korea).
He was a Chinese Calligraphy lecturer in TAR College and SongQing Community College (for senior citizen), both in Kuala Lumpur and now as a professional calligrapher with Sepoi Sepoi Calligraphy.
His specialisation is very niche, he composes couplet "duilian" (a form of unique Chinese literature, like short poem, appears in only two vertical lines, with either contrast or complement meaning and the right tone), the couplet will be embedded with personal, couple, company name(s) and presented in mounted calligraphy, its a very unique piece of art, 100% personalized and guaranteed the only piece in the world.
黄幼鲸，斋号微风堂，现居吉隆坡文良港。自幼酷爱书法。中学时期拜王山野先生为师，开始认真入门学书，从米字基本功开始，写过的电话黄页，叠起来稍比姚明高。说到临碑，先从龙门造像记入手，得其方笔。然后临瘗鹤铭，取其圆意。凡石门铭，丰乐亭，醉翁亭，曹全碑，礼器碑，封龙山颂皆有所涉猎，然不够精深。唯独清末郑孝胥的宜园记与民初张伯英的碑帖叙略，实在喜欢，临摹不下百通；同时爱读帖，每有爱新觉罗启功，赵朴初，林散之，陆俨少等法书，见之如痴如醉。如此酝酿之下，逐步形成外方内圆的笔触，进而渐悟出平里泛波，竖中现弧；静中寓动，动似朵云舒卷自若的“卷云舒”书法风格。幼鲸孜孜不倦廿余春秋，从事书艺研究，发扬与传承工作。曾荣获首届全国书法论文比赛一等奖，数项国内外重要书法奖项，多次受邀参加国内外书法交流展，赈灾义卖，挥毫示范，及近年，受邀为个人，及团体机构撰联题字。曾经担任拉曼学院，松青长者学院书法班导师，现为微风堂书艺天地专业书法家。
